Perhaps one of the most important uses of ARMS is marking dangerous locations. Sharp curves are hard to see and marking them with regular reflective means not always improves the visibility. ARMS provides a wide angle of visibility and the driver can see the curb from distance. The running pattern provides a directional indicator.
Future enhancements of this application will include a speed and weight sensor. A vehicle entering the curve at a higher than calculated safe speed will cause the markers to blink in red rather than the running directional wave.
